I've been creating an empty shape file that is the extent of the world and
then doing a merge with the countries I'm looking at. That way I can shade
the ocean as I want and it matches the shoreline.
I don't have a external site outside of the work network I paddle around in that I could drop something. But these are very easy to make yourself.
Just use the country boundaries that you need to have an ocean for, create an empty polygon for the ocean (make it big enough to go beyond the edge of the page), which uses the same extent as the countries, do a merge of the polygon and the countries and you have something which works as a makeshift mask (or ocean).
