Error message about GRD file

I am trying to run a Domain Distribution Modeling using future climate variables, and when I press the apply button, it appears a error message: "Cannot open the gridfile:c:\diva\teste.grd, because either the GRD and/or GRI file(s) do not exist". How can I solve this? It is expected that these files do not exist, because it will be created with the Model run, yes?

DOMAIN error

I need to guess here. The error message suggests that the output file is not valid. DIVA tries to load the output file and then gives this error message. So I think the problem is before DOMAIN. The model probably runs too fast to notice. So perhaps select a very small area (zero cells?) is this perhaps a problem of different map projections?

Robert

not a small area

Thanks Robert! But I think it can't be a problem of very small area, as I'm considering the entire America...

Could you please tell me how I can run a Domain Model for the future? Should I set the actual variable stack at the input tab and the future variable stack at the predict tab? I'm not sure if I'm doing that at the correct way.

Future predictions

Yes, that is correct. You get the environmental conditions under which the species occurs from the current distribution and environmental (climate) data and then you use this to project the distribution to future conditions.

Robert

Future predictions 2

Great. So, it's exactly when I try to do this that the error message appear. How can I check what would be the problem? (when I run the model just for actual variables, its seems to work)

Something wrong

Perhaps something wrong with the future data? Can you run a model using the future data as input (just to test)?

Robert

Future data as input is OK

Yes, I can...

Output Grid Dimensions

I tested the model again, and when I set "read from layer" at the Output Grid Dimensions it did not appear the error message, and it seems that it worked (using the actual climate as input and future climate as predict). Using Maximum Extent the error appears again!
